The Ministry of Public Health explains the "3 medical treatment rights" that foreigners in Thailand need to know. What do they need to know?

Today (21 December 2014), following information that was shared on social media about the burden of medical expenses for foreign workers in Thailand, stating that state hospitals have had to bear uncollectible medical expenses of almost 13 billion baht over the past 5 years, this has led to criticism of the appropriateness and necessity of managing the medical treatment rights system for non-Thai nationals. The Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) has therefore clarified its approach to managing the said system and providing care under humanitarian principles.
